The SMART project (Student-Managed Access to Online Resources) at Newcastle University has issued a call for user experience testers for the smartam component of the UMA-based applications they have been building. Participation should take less than a half-hour; if you’re interested, check out the flyer for instructions. To keep up with general news on the project (there’s lots), follow the SMART JISC blog.
This is an exciting milestone in UMA development. Congratulations to the SMART team!
UPDATE: The SMART blog now has an entry that describes the exciting directions smartam is going. Don’t miss it.
I would be very interested in testing your uma app, I’ve just removed a rom, on one of my new devices which contained uma (signal boost) orange uk, I found that when device worked well using the app, it was a great device, however the apps general stability was not so good, should the slightest signal come in to play, the uma connection would drop, and call would be lost. I would be interested in assisting with any testing, due to my ideal geographical location, in a poor 2G area, and virtually non existent 3G area, with uneven terrain .
My current devices, htc sensation (did have signal boost) until reflashed due to its stability, htc desire (non uma) blackberry bold 9700, very stable.
Email doesn’t appear to be wanting to send, would be interested in testing uma software.
Hi Mark– I have a feeling that you’re referring to a different “UMA”, perhaps this one? http://www.umatechnology.org/participants/index.htm (I hadn’t known about this project until quite recently, and didn’t know if it was still active.)
